You're Not Alone - Finding Comfort in Trials (Cassette)
We've all heard the saying, "When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade." But how do you keep from getting sour when your life seems full of lemons? JoAnn Hibbert Hamilton knows all about trials. She has faced polio, had serious bouts of rheumatic fever, and was totally paralyzed for a time as a young mother. She has also had two hip replacements and open-heart surgery. A few years after returning from Brazil where her husband was a mission president, their house burned down. Eight days later, her husband died of cancer, leaving her to support eight children between the ages of 2 and 16. Later, she remarried a widower with thirteen children. Through it all, JoAnn Hamilton has not only survived, but she maintains that, "Life is wonderful!" In this practical and inspiring talk, Sister Hamilton shares the secrets she has learned that have helped her through her trials. She tells us how to remember God's perspective, to choose our attitude, and to activate more strength. She describes how sometimes the only thing left is laughter, and that trials teach compassion. She reminds us that the Lord is mindful of us in our afflictions and that we are not alone in our trials. Also available on CD
